Odyssey Lunch and Nethercutt Private Tour

It’s time for a Spring / Summer event lunch at the Odyssey and private tour of the Nethercutt Collection!

At 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 22, we will meet at the iconic Odyssey Restaurant overlooking the San Fernando Valley.  A Lamborghini parking area has been reserved.  At 11 AM we will go into our private room for a 3 course lunch starting with a Caesar Salad followed by your choice of Beef Short Ribs or Chicken Scaloppini.  Chocolate Brioche Bread Pudding will be served for desert.

By 1PM we will head over to the Nethercutt Museum.   There will be a designated parking area for us.  The Nethercutt Collection is housed in a 4 story building across the street from the Nethercutt Museum.  The Lower Salon or first floor contains about 25 automobiles from the 1900’s to the late 1940’s.  Also on display are nickelodeons, music boxes, David Winter Cottages, Dolls, Coins, and crystal figurines.

The second floor is the Grand Salon Showroom with marble flooring and columns, crystal chandeliers and painted ceiling. It is the perfect room to showcase 30 of the best automotive examples from the early 1900’s.   This includes Duesenbergs, Cadillacs, Isotta-Fraschini, Delahaye, Minvera, Renault, Maybach, many other European and American built automobiles.

The third floor houses a large assortment of Radiator Hood Ornaments "Mascots", including Lalique Crystal Mascots along with 18th & 19th Century French Furniture.

The top floor is the music room collection centered around the Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ.  The music room displays an amazing collection of automated mechanical instruments including Reproducing Pianos, Nickelodeons, Cylinder & Disc Music Boxes and Orchestrions.  The capabilities of some of these will be demonstrated for us to enjoy.  This floor also contains a Louis XV Style Dining Room display.

As a special treat we will get to look in on the shop where those world class restorations are done.  This is usually not part of the tour and generally not allowed this close to the Pebble Beach Concours week.   That’s because they are busy preparing their next Concourse class winners!

After our tour, if time permits, we can proceed across the street to the Nethercutt Museum and check out all the vintage automobiles on public display.  Attached is a registration form. The cost is $60 per person before April 10.  Registrations after April 10 will be $70 per person if available.  Please register by April 10 and avoid the price increase.  This will also help us in planning with the venues.  This event is limited to a maximum of 100 people so don’t miss out!
